“My vision for Ngamanawa Incorporation and Ngā Mata Hiringa is to see more opportunities for rangatahi to help look after our taiao, and giving them the chance to explore Waitaia and its abundance of whenua, ngahere and awa”

Nikki was born and raised in Pōneke. Tauranga Moana has been my home for over 20 years. She gets to share Mauao and our beautiful backyard with her 3 daughters.

Nikki loves spending her free time exploring the ngahere and keeping active outdoors especially on the water with the waka ama paddling for Hoe Aroha Whānau o Mauao.

Nikki joined the Ngā Mata Hiringa team in late 2021 after studying conservation with Bay Conservation Alliance which is based in Mount Maunganui.

Her kaitiaki role involves pest control and eradication, caring for our native rākau species and learning more about how to look after our taiao.
