John has been a Committee of Management member for Ngamanawa Incorporation since 2009. He is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and whilst in Auckland worked for KPMG Charteered Accountants and NZ Guardian Trust as a Trust Manager. He is currently General Manager for Putauaki Trust. John is passionate about his current role in growing the value of the Trust’s assets for the benefit of all the Trust’s shareholders and beneficiaries. He holds a number of governance positions including as Trustee for Ngamanawa Incorporation, Director of Ngāti Hangarau Holdings Limited and as Chairman of Māori Investments Limited, a significant Māori entity based in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. He is also a member of the NZ Institure of Directors. John is a keen sports fan and enjoys watching most sports especially rugby and during his spare time plays a bit of golf.
